BRUCETON, Tenn. — Bruceton’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved the purchase of a replacement service truck during a special-called meeting Monday evening, February 23.

The board unanimously voted to purchase a Ford truck with utility bed from Wilson County Motors for $59,058 through the state bid process.

The truck will replace the 2008 F-250 totaled in the February 9 work zone crash on Broad Street.

Mayor Robert T. Keeton, III said PE Partners made an offer of $13,000 for the wrecked truck.

“Whatever we get out of the wrecked truck will be deducted from the purchase price,” Keeton said.

The new truck will feature an eight-foot utility bed, larger than the six-foot bed on the previous vehicle.

Wilson County Motors will install the utility bed at their Spring Hill location, detail the vehicle, and deliver it to Bruceton at no additional cost to the town.

The town’s insurance is handling damages from the crash.

Additionally, officials were able resolve an issue that prevented the last two meetings from being streamed live. The special-called meeting was streamed on the town’s Facebook page.
