Hundreds of entries were submitted across the Floral, Domestic Arts, and Culinary departments at this year’s Carroll County Fair, with the following exhibitors earning the coveted Purple Ribbon:

At right, Gail Eubanks of Huntingdon won a purple ribbon for her knitted afghan that she made as a gift for her grandson. Directions: Cream butter and gradually add in sugar. Add in eggs one by one until combined. Mix flour in until slowly combined. Add buttermilk until just incorporated. Add lemon extract and gently fold in blueberries. Pour batter into pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
