McKenzie’s Twelfth Annual Boo Bash a Success

Ghosts, goblins, witches, and more descended on downtown McKenzie Thursday evening, October 23 for a fun-filled, candy-fueled time at the twelfth annual Boo Bash event, sponsored in part by Bethel University.

Thousands of people, young and old, cycled through Cedar St., Broadway St., Banner Row, and Main St., visiting various trunk-or-treat stops.

At the time of this writing, organizers have not yet tallied a total turnout.

Costume Contest

EMCEE – McKenzie Firefighter Jason Arnold announced all contestants and winners.

Children and families also took part in a costume contest with five categories: Tiny Terrors (0-2), Small Spooks (3-5), Middle Monsters (6-9), Older Ogres (10-14), and Fearsome Families.

McKenzie firefighter Jason Arnold served as the emcee for the evening, and judges were Lougan Bishop and Carleigh Lunn.

Tiny Terrors

TINY TERRORS – Winners of the ages 0-2 category. Small Spooks

For ages 3-5, Matti Bennett’s Wednesday Addams costume won first, Penelope Peaches as Jessie from Toy Story got second, and Sofia Cruz’s Day of the Dead costume won third place.

Middle Monsters

Huggy Wuggy (Lane Coleman) took first place in the age 6-9 category. Isaac Cruz’s portrayal of Miguel earned second, and Hannah Jackson’s Lorax got third.

Older Ogres

Korrt Doyle’s (left) Spirit Walker took first place in the 10-14 age group. Piper Porter took home second place as Mimikyu. Uriah Welti won third place as Optimus Prime.

Fearsome Families

At left, Kerri Beth Arnold and Korrt Doyle won first as the Spirit Walker and his Keeper. At center, Jacklynn and Heather Townes won second place with their Ghost Buster and “Stay Puft Marshmallow Man”. On the right, The Cole Family’s “Gizmo, it’s time for bed” getup won them third place.
