The Carroll County Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse reports that its community food pantry is nearly empty.
Staff say only a few items remain on the shelves as requests for assistance have risen sharply in recent weeks.
They expect requests to grow even more with projected cuts to federal food assistance programs beginning November 1.
The Center relies heavily on community donations to keep both its food and hygiene pantries stocked.
Non-perishable items and monetary donations are urgently needed. Donations can be dropped off at the Center’s office at 50 Stone Ridge Cove in Huntingdon, or arranged for pickup by calling 731-986-5920.
