A Huntingdon man has been arrested and charged with arson following a house fire reported on Hawkins Lane over the weekend.

According to a release from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, special agents assigned to fire investigations began investigating a suspicious fire at a residence in the 100 block of Hawkins Lane on Saturday, December 27, at the request of the Huntingdon Police Department.

Huntingdon firefighters initially responded to the blaze, which prompted further investigation into the cause of the fire.

During the course of the investigation, agents developed information identifying 63-year-old William Audrine Hollowell of Huntingdon as the individual responsible for starting the fire.

Agents obtained an arrest warrant charging Hollowell with arson.

On Monday, December 29, he was arrested and booked into the Carroll County Jail, where he is being held on a $50,000 bond.

The investigation was conducted by TBI agents in coordination with the Huntingdon Fire Department and Huntingdon Police.
