McKENZIE, Tenn. — Yellow Sheriff’s tape surrounded the charred ruins of what was once a house located at 200 Campbell Lane Tuesday morning, May 12. Authorities canvassed the area for clues to determine what caused the house to go up in flames earlier that morning, as well as for clues on the whereabouts of the home’s missing tenant.

Much of the circumstances surrounding the fire are shrouded in mystery.

They arrived to find the home completely engulfed.

At the time of the call, the caller had no information as to whether anyone was in the home. After putting the fire out, firefighters searched through the rubble and found no signs of human remains. They determined that no one was inside or injured as a result of the fire.

Brooke Walker, who lives at the residence, cannot be found as of publication time. Carroll County Sheriff’s Office issued a bulletin looking for information on her whereabouts.

MISSING — Brooke Walker, 45, of McKenzie has not been located as of publication time.

The bulletin stated that Walker “was last seen on May 12, 2026 at a residence on Fields School Road in McKenzie, TN at approximately 2 a.m. She was asking different residences for a ride to an unknown location. We believe she is walking, but unsure if someone gave her a ride. She may possibly have a dog with her.”

Walker “was last seen wearing a light colored flannel with blue jeans,” the bulletin continued. She is 45 years old, 5’01, 120 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

According to McKenzie Fire Chief Brian Tucker, the cause of the fire remains undetermined.

The house fire and Walker’s disappearance were not the only events to occur in the area early Tuesday morning.

Richard Chandler reported that his 1997 blue Ford F-150 was stolen from his driveway on Fields School Rd. sometime between 2 and 4 a.m.
