James Clayton Furr

Mr. James Clayton Furr, 89, of Huntingdon passed away Monday, May 26, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Huntingdon First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Carroll Memorial Gardens in McKenzie. Brother Jimmy Furr and Brother Russ Wilkins officiating.

The family will receive friends at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Huntingdon First Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until time of service at 2:00 PM.

James was born January 7, 1936 to the late John Furr and Opal Allen Furr. He is also preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty Jo Furr; one son, Terry (Cami) Furr; one daughter Cindy (Tim) McMinn; five grandchildren Josh (Jordan) Furr, Luke (Angel) Furr, Jessica (Wes) Grushon, Rachel (Jimmy) Nolen and Matthew (Calyn) McMinn; as well as thirteen great-grandchildren.

Honoring him as pallbearers will be Terry Furr, Josh Furr, Luke Furr, Wes Grushon, Jimmy Nolen and Matt McMinn.

Dilday-Carter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements 731-986-8281.
