MENLO PARK, Calif. — Millions of users opened Facebook to encounter an outage Friday morning, June 12, leaving them unable to access the platform.
Reports began spiking around 9:30 a.m. ET
Multiple outage-monitoring services reported disruptions affecting both the desktop and mobile versions of the app. Users reported being logged out and unable to log back in, while others experienced difficulty loading their feeds and messages.
Meta’s status page listed high disruptions for Ads Manager, with the company stating its engineering teams were actively working to resolve the issue. Because the issue is server-side, switching devices or using a VPN does not restore access.
No official cause has been announced by Meta, the parent company of Facebook at the time of this writing.
