BRUCETON, Tenn. β Just two years after its grand opening, store closure signs adorn the Family Dollar store building in Bruceton.
Windows at the 30703 Broad St. location are now plastered with red-and-yellow signage reading “Store Closing,” “Everything Must Go,” and “Nothing Held Back.” A separate sign advertises the store’s fixtures, furniture, and equipment for sale.

The Family Dollar/Dollar Tree combo store opened in 2024. It was part of a wave of co-branded stores the company touted as driving higher sales volume than standalone locations.
The Bruceton store had a 10-year lease with options to renew, according to commercial real estate listings.
The closure comes roughly 10 months after the Dollar Tree branding was stripped from the building.
Dollar Tree, Inc. sold its Family Dollar business to private equity firms Brigade Capital Management and Macellum Capital Management for approximately $1 billion in July 2025. Workers removed Dollar Tree signage from the Bruceton store that September as the two brands began operating separately.
Since the sale, Family Dollar has closed at least 350 stores nationwide between July 2025 and May 2026 β an average of roughly one closure per day β according to an analysis by Local Falcon, a location-data firm that compared the company’s store locator over that period.
Company leadership has pointed to a difficult economic climate, reduced SNAP benefits, and declining customer spending as drivers of the cuts.
The Bruceton store does not yet appear on Family Dollar’s public store locator as closed, though the company’s online listings have lagged behind actual closures elsewhere in the country.
According to town officials, the store is set to close some time in September, however, Family Dollar has not issued a public statement specific to the Bruceton closure.
