HUNTINGDON, Tenn. — Eric Sawyers will be the next Carroll County Sheriff, defeating two independent candidates in Thursday’s August 6 election.
Sawyers was the Republican nominee. He received 2,291 votes, just over 51 percent of the total, in a three-way race that saw both independents finish within striking distance of each other.
Eric W. Sawyers (R) — 2,291 (51.07%)
Ryan White (I) — 1,156 (25.77%)
Michael A. Smith (I) — 1,093 (24.36%)
A total of 4,705 ballots were cast countywide.
