HUNTINGDON, Tenn. — General Sessions Judge Michael King heard several cases Wednesday, Aug. 5, in Huntingdon. Cases involved drug-related offenses, probation violations, traffic charges, and more.
The following cases resulted in pleas of guilty:
Lee Matthew Cook of Bruceton pleaded guilty to evading arrest. The court assessed a $250 fine and sentenced Cook to 11 months and 29 days of supervised probation with the possibility of transfer to unsupervised probation upon satisfaction of conditions, and required Cook to complete a cognitive behavioral training course. Charges of reckless driving and failure to exercise due care were dismissed.
Octavio Garcia Guzman of Laurel, Miss. pleaded guilty to resisting stop, arrest, or search. The court sentenced Guzman to 10 days. Guzman is subject to an ICE detainer. Charges of evading arrest and driving without a license were dismissed.
Gwendela Hampton of Camden pleaded guilty to driving while license suspended — second or subsequent offense, failure to stop at a stop sign, and financial responsibility law. The court assessed a $150 fine and sentenced Hampton to six months of supervised probation. Hampton is required to obtain a valid driver’s license as a condition of the sentence and remains on supervised probation until all conditions are met.
Robin E. Samples of Kenton pleaded guilty to simple possession/casual exchange. The court sentenced Samples to 11 months and 29 days supervised probation. A $750 fine was waived.
The following case was granted pre-trial diversion:
Emily Kee of McKenzie was granted pre-trial diversion on a charge of retail sale of alcohol to minors. Kee was placed on supervised probation for six months. The case is set for review on February 3, 2027. Kee is ordered to report to jail on August 14 at 6 p.m.
The following cases were dismissed:
A probation violation charge against Shayna Casey of Atwood was dismissed.
A probation violation charge against Candy Glover of Milan was dismissed.
A simple possession/casual exchange charge against Misty Lynn Holland of Camden was dismissed based on the admission and plea of a co-defendant.
A probation violation charge against Rockel Humphrey of Cedar Grove was dismissed.
