HOLLOW ROCK, Tenn. — A Carroll County Grand Jury indicted Anna Lauren Carrington, 35, of Hollow Rock on Monday on four felony charges.
Carrington, who served as Hollow Rock city clerk, faces charges of Theft of Services, Official Misconduct, Tampering with Governmental Records, and Computer Crimes — all Class E felonies.
According to the indictment, filed September 14 in Carroll County Circuit Court, the charges stem from conduct alleged to have occurred between December 1, 2023, and September 30, 2025. Prosecutors allege Carrington obtained more than $1,000 in water utility services without paying for them.
The official misconduct charge accuses her of using her position as city clerk to fail to apply payments or penalties to her own personal water bill.
The tampering charge alleges she removed her own name from the town’s water cutoff lists, and the computer crimes charge accuses her of accessing computer systems to cause false output for the purpose of obtaining services by false pretense.
She was booked into Carroll County Jail on Friday morning. Her bond was set at $2,000.
