A man’s body was discovered in an abandoned building in Bruceton on Monday, February 9, according to local authorities.

Authorities confirmed that Marcos Hernandez was found in the upper level of what was a former doctor’s office building on Lexington Street. The building has been largely vacant and deteriorating for quite some time.

Marcos had apparently been staying in the building, which he supposedly accessed through a rear entrance. When discovered, he had a mattress, blankets, and boxes of food with him, suggesting he had been sheltering there for some time.

His official cause of death is unknown at this time.

Neighbors around the building reported that they never saw anyone going in and out of the building. The building’s owner stated he had no knowledge that anyone was staying in the structure.

I knew Marcos but haven’t seen him for a long time. He seemed to be a really nice man. Sending out prayers for him and his kids.
