HUNTINGDON, Tenn. — Siemens Energy, Inc. will supply two 69kV power circuit breakers for the Huntingdon Primary Substation after submitting the low bid of $200,474.

The Carroll County Electric Department Board of Directors approved the bid at their regular meeting on Thursday, March 26.
The breakers are part of the ongoing Huntingdon Primary rehab project.
“This is about as accurate as the estimate gets,” General Manager Ryan Drewry said.
He added that the bid came in almost exactly on target with the department’s $200,000 estimate.
Delivery is expected in 65 to 75 weeks.
Drewry said it was a significant improvement from roughly 100 weeks quoted just three months ago.
He also added that the 161kV relay control panels, which are also part of the Huntingdon Primary rehab project, were originally expected to go out for bid in April. However, due to the engineering and design work involved in the bid specifications, that timeline has been pushed to May.
Leach Substation Site Work
Drewry reported that DC Construction, the site work contractor for the Leach 161:13kV Substation, has provided a construction schedule indicating work will take place in April and May.
“Glad that this is finally moving,” Drewry said.
The project had been delayed while the department worked through an environmental review process with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, which was resolved at a joint field review in February.
Audit Contract
The board approved an audit contract with ATA, PC for Fiscal Year 2026 totaling $21,650, at an increase of $1,280, or just over 6%, from last year.
Banking Resolutions
The board approved two resolutions updating authorized signatories on the department’s banking accounts.
One resolution covered accounts and lock boxes held with Carroll Bank & Trust, and the other covered accounts held with First Bank.
Both resolutions remove recently retired Operations Manager Danny Toombs as an authorized signer and add his successor, Mark Simpson.
The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for April 30 at 2:30 p.m.
