Two individuals had charges bound over to the Grand Jury during the short docket of Carroll County General Sessions Court on Wednesday, July 23.
Elizabeth Johnson of Old Hickory had charges bound over in two separate cases. In the first, she is accused of meth possession or casual exchange, casual exchange involving a minor (Schedule VI – attempt), and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. In the second, she faces an additional count of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Michael Steed of Alamo was charged with first-offense DUI. His case was also bound over to the Grand Jury.
Lamarcus Young of Martin pleaded guilty to third-offense DUI. He was fined $600 and placed on supervised probation. He must complete an alcohol and drug evaluation and comply with all treatment recommendations. Young is barred from driving in Tennessee for two years and must use an ignition interlock device. He is scheduled to report to jail on August 1. After serving 30 days of his 60-day sentence, he may complete the remainder in an inpatient treatment facility. Charges of cocaine possession (attempt), possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a revoked license (second or subsequent offense), improper lane change, and implied consent enhancement were all dismissed.
Daniel D. McCarty of Memphis pleaded guilty to DUI by allowing. He received a $350 fine and supervised probation, and he is prohibited from driving in Tennessee for one year. An ignition interlock device is required, and he must report to jail on August 1. A separate charge of simple possession was dismissed.
Laura Ann Darnell of McKenzie pleaded guilty to failing to carry or exhibit a driver’s license. She was placed on unsupervised probation and ordered to make reasonable efforts to obtain a valid license. No fine was imposed.
Jacob Gaia of Trezevant had his charge of driving while license suspended dismissed.
