A new business opportunity may soon be coming to Carroll County after the Carroll County Civic Center receives a new commercial kitchen upgrade funded through a $100,000 Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program grant.
The project will replace the current concession stand with a fully equipped commercial kitchen.
At the budget committee meeting on December 18, Carroll County Mayor Joseph Butler said the upgrade is designed to support microbusinesses, caterers, and community organizations by providing a certified kitchen space that can be rented for food preparation and sales.
In addition to business use, the kitchen will be available for community groups such as 4-H and other organizations that currently lack access to a compliant commercial food preparation space.
The kitchen is expected to feature multiple service windows and high-end appliances, allowing it to be used for events, concessions, and small-scale food production.
“The goal is to partner with Z-Line on the appliance side,” Butler said.
The timing of the kitchen project is good, as the Civic Center is in the middle of other interior renovation projects as part of a $2 million Connected Communities Facilities Grant.
There is no set completion date or renovation timeline at the time of this writing.
