District One Commissioner Randy Long called attention to illegal trash dumping discovered along Jax Road near Atwood.

In a social media post, he shared a photo which shows multiple garbage bags and discarded items strewn beside the road.

“It’s not that hard to find a trash dumpster,” Long wrote. “Taxpayers should not be responsible for your trash cleanup. Don’t trash Tennessee or Carroll County roadways!”

The commissioner urged residents to dispose of waste properly.

Residents can also report any illegal dumping to the Sheriff’s Office.

A public dumpster is available at the Carroll County Recycling Center, located at 21655 TN-77, Huntingdon. It is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Their phone number is (731) 986-2425.
