Walmart Theft Investigation Ongoing

Officer Michael Sevarns responded to Walmart on June 4 regarding a theft that occurred on May 5. According to store personnel, the suspect used false barcodes at self-checkout to steal four items totaling $42.72. Warrants have been filed, but the suspect has not yet been served.

Woman Charged with Drug Possession After Traffic Stop

On June 8, Sgt. Ethan Parham initiated a traffic stop on Browning Avenue after observing a vehicle with no visible tag. During the stop, consent was given to search the vehicle. Officer Kristen Lee discovered a glass pipe concealed in the pants of passenger Deziray Buckley, along with a purple cloth bag containing suspected methamphetamine. Further search revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The meth tested positive and weighed approximately 2.2 grams. Buckley was charged with possession of Schedule II and VI drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was transported to the Carroll County Jail.

Driver Cited for Suspended License, Expired Tags

On June 9 at approximately 7:37 a.m., Officer Brad Allen stopped a vehicle for expired registration. A computer check revealed the driver, identified as Jacob Click, had a suspended license. He was cited to General Sessions Court for driving on a suspended license (first offense) and expired registration.

ICE Notified After Public Intoxication Arrest at Walmart

On June 9 around 6:36 p.m., Officer Dexter Richardson was dispatched to Walmart regarding a man who had fallen and was attempting to purchase alcohol. The man was identified as Nicolas Jorge Felipe. According to Officer Richardson’s report, Felipe smelled strongly of alcohol. He was arrested and booked into Carroll County Jail for public intoxication with a $500 bond. Dispatch later confirmed Felipe was in the country illegally. ICE was notified.

Motorcyclist Cited for Driving on Suspended License

On June 10 at 11:26 p.m., Officer Kristen Lee stopped a motorcycle on Highway 22 North after noticing the vehicle had no rear lights. The driver, Michael Withers, admitted his license was suspended. Dispatch confirmed the suspension originated in Florida in 2016, with additional suspensions from Lebanon City Court and Henderson County. Withers had multiple prior offenses for driving on a suspended license. He was cited to appear in Carroll County General Sessions Court and issued a verbal warning for a lighting violation.

Woman Arrested After Hospital Disturbance

Police responded to the Wilson Home on Northwood Drive on June 13 after staff reported that Connie McMillian had become aggressive with another resident and began tearing papers off the wall. Sgt. Billy King transported McMillian to the emergency room, where she awaited a mental health evaluation from Cary Counseling. Upon arrival of the counselor, McMillian refused treatment, threw a chair at Officer Dexter Richardson, and attempted to strike him. She was arrested for assault and transported to Carroll County Jail, where her bond was set at $2,500.
