Three outstanding students from Carroll County are being recognized at the state level for their dedication to leadership, service, and agricultural education.
Each earned top honors in their project areas, along with $2,000 in scholarships to further their education.
Allie Paschall – Henry County 4-H
Allie Paschall, a senior at Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central High School, was named the State Winner in Plant Science at Tennessee 4-H Roundup for her level 2 portfolio and interview competition. She was awarded a $1,000 college scholarship to attend UTK or UTM, and an all expenses paid trip to National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Georgia.
Paschall is also a Vol State recipient, placing her among the most accomplished 4-H members in Tennessee. The Vol State Award is the highest honor a Tennessee 4-H’er may receive. Members are inducted in an impressive candlelight ceremony on the final night of Tennessee 4-H Roundup. In addition to serving as a Regional 4-H Officer, she is an active member of the Hollow Rock-Bruceton FFA and the Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) program.
Cadence Guinn – Carroll County 4-H
Cadence Guinn, a sophomore at Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central High School, earned the title of State Winner in Forestry, Wildlife, and Fisheries at Tennessee 4-H Roundup for her level 1 portfolio and interview competition. She received a $500 scholarship to UTK in recognition of her success.
Guinn is an active member of Hollow Rock-Bruceton FFA and is quickly becoming a rising leader in Carroll County 4-H, with her state-level recognition marking an impressive start to her high school 4-H career.
Paige Costello – Carroll County 4-H
Paige Costello, a senior at Huntingdon High School, has been named the State Winner in Beekeeping at Tennessee 4-H Roundup level 2 portfolio and interview competition. Her accomplishments earned her a $500 college scholarship to attend the University of Tennessee at Knoxville or the University of Tennessee at Martin and an all expenses paid trip to National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Georgia.
Costello also received the title of Vol State recipient, the highest honor awarded to Tennessee 4-H members, recognizing her as one of the top youth leaders in the state. She currently serves as a Regional 4-H Officer, runs cross country for Huntingdon High School, and is a member of FFA.
These achievements highlight the talent and dedication of local 4-H members, showcasing the impact of 4-H programs across Carroll and Henry counties.
