Huntingdon dump trucks rolled in and out of East Main Street this week, hauling in loads of gravel to create a new public parking lot on the former site of Hotel Carroll.

The gravel lot sits on the footprint of the old hotel, which was demolished more than a decade ago. The space had remained mostly unused until now.
Street Supervisor Ronnie Breeden said the lot will provide additional parking downtown and should be open to the public soon.
