Mrs. Lorene Davis woke to a loud crash she first thought was thunder early Thursday morning, November 13. Instead, a pickup truck had plowed through the front of her home.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 32-year-old John Odom of Huntingdon was driving a 2004 Toyota Tacoma south on State Route 22 around 3 a.m. when it crossed the grass median, veered through both northbound lanes, and into Davis’s yard before crashing through her living room.
Mrs. Davis, 83, escaped injury. She was in the opposite end of the home at the time.
Carroll County Fire Department, Carroll County Rescue Squad, Carroll County EMA, Huntingdon Fire Department, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Highway Patrol, and Baptist EMS responded to the scene.
Paramedics transported Odom to the hospital by ambulance.
According to the report, Odom was wearing his seatbelt.
Charges are pending.
