The State Champion Huntingdon Mustangs football team will be honored by Carroll County Mayor Joseph Butler and the County Commission at their regular meeting Monday, January 12, at the Carroll County Civic Center.

In addition to the proclamation, the Commission has a full agenda.

Commissioners will hear a presentation from the FFA Agriculture Issues Team and receive an update from Heather Foster of the Carroll County Prevention Coalition.

The Commission plans to fill the District 3 County Commission vacancy, as well as approve committee assignments for the 2025–26 term.

Several Resolutions are also up for consideration.

Resolution 1-01-2026 would reappoint Andrea Browning, Willie Huffman, and Lana Suite to the Carroll County Industrial Development Board. The terms of the reappointments expire in January 2030.

Resolution 1-02-2026 would appoint Wesley Bradley to the Carroll County Board of Zoning Appeals and the Carroll County Regional Planning Commission. The term ends in January 2030.

Resolution 1-03-2026 is to appoint Morris Rogers and Michael Williamson to the Carroll County Agricultural Extension Board. Their terms would expire in January 2028. Rogers would serve as a commissioner representative.

Resolution 1-04-2026 amends the Solid Waste Fund budget to allow the purchase of a new box truck for the Recycling Center. The $70,000 purchase will be funded through the Solid Waste Fund balance and replaces a unit that has broken down.

Resolution 1-05-2026 amends the Highway Fund budget to cover increased costs related to fire extinguisher repair and replacement under a service agreement. It transfers $2,555 within the Highway Fund to cover the expense.

Resolution 1-06-2026 amends the Grant Fund budget to incorporate $100,000 in Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program funding. The funds will be used for renovation and construction of a commercial kitchen at the Civic Center.

Resolution 1-07-2026 amends the Grant Fund budget to account for new funding for the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office. The amendment includes funding for Tennessee Corrections Institute training equipment and bonus pay for School Resource Officers who worked a full school or fiscal year and are currently employed.
