HUNTINGDON, Tenn. — Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County is one of five Tennessee hospitals named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s list of 183 hospitals nationwide with a five-star rating in both nurse and physician communication.
The rankings are based on CMS Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) data collected from patients between July 2024 and June 2025 and released by CMS on May 13.
The physician communication star rating draws from three survey questions measuring how clearly physicians explained things, how carefully they listened, and how respectfully they treated patients. Nationally, 208 hospitals earned a five-star rating for physician communication in 2026, while 567 hospitals received five stars for nurse communication.
Baptist Carroll County was joined on the Tennessee list by Claiborne Medical Center in Tazewell, Highpoint Health-Riverview with Ascension St. Thomas in Carthage, Unity Medical Center in Manchester, and West Tennessee Healthcare Milan Hospital.
The recognition adds to a string of accolades for the 70-bed Huntingdon hospital, which also earned a five-star CMS rating for cleanliness and, earlier this year, a Press Ganey 2025 Human Experience Guardian of Excellence Award for physician experience.
