As winter weather moves into the area, Carroll County Emergency Management Agency has announced warming center plans and Carroll County Fire Department released important non-emergency contact information to help residents stay safe during extreme cold and potential power outages.

The warming centers are available or will open as conditions require, particularly in the event of extended power failures.

Warming Centers

The following locations will be used as warming centers:

  • McKenzie Farmers Market
    2431 Cedar St., McKenzie
This location is available as a primary warming center.
  • Carroll County Jail – Lobby (Overflow)
    200 Norandal Dr., Huntingdon
This site will be used as an overflow warming location if needed.
  • Westport Fire Department
    7319 Westport Rd., Westport
This location will open as a warming center only if power fails in the Westport area.

EMA officials said they are assisting all warming center locations and actively monitoring weather and power conditions across the county.

Residents are encouraged to continue monitoring weather updates, check on elderly or vulnerable neighbors, and remain weather aware as conditions change.

Officials also reminded residents to use emergency and non-emergency numbers appropriately during winter storms.
