Clarksburg began installing new street signs along Highway 22 this morning.
Clarksburg Mayor Howell Wayne Todd said the signs were overdue.
“Some of our street signs along Highway 22 are showing their age even to the extent that they were hard to read,” Todd said. “We not only want signs that look better, but we want them clearly legible for emergency services who have a need to locate a residence.”
G&C Supply Company from Atwood will be installing the signs at each intersection on Highway 22 between Chumney Lane and Weatherford Street.
Todd said newer but smaller signs would be installed on side streets such as Poplar Springs Circle.
