CSX locomotives derail at Bruceton Yard

BRUCETON, Tenn. β€” Two locomotives derailed at the CSX Bruceton Yard Thursday afternoon, prompting a multi-agency response and a hazmat deployment.

According to CSX, the derailment occurred at approximately 2:37 p.m. Two locomotives derailed, with one falling on its side.

DERAILED β€” A CSX locomotive lays on its side after derailing Thursday afternoon in Bruceton.

Two crew members were transported to Baptist Hospital-Carroll County by ambulance with what are believed to be minor injuries.

First responders from Bruceton and Hollow Rock Fire Departments responded to the scene, along with Carroll County Fire Department, Bruceton Police Department, Hollow Rock Police Department, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Priority EMS, and Carroll County Hazmat.

Carroll County Hazmat contained an oil spill before the scene was turned over to CSX.

CSX brought in its own hazmat team to complete the cleanup.

The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
