Two night shift deputies with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office are reportedly on administrative leave after allegedly drag racing their patrol vehicles while on duty one night last week, according to multiple sources who contacted the Carroll County Observer over the weekend.

Several attempts have been made to obtain an official statement from the Sheriff’s Office.

When reached by phone, Chief Deputy Joel Pate declined to discuss the matter in detail, saying only, “You’ll have to talk to the Sheriff about it.”

At the time of this writing, Sheriff Andy Dickson has not responded for comment.

While the Observer has confirmed the identities of the deputies involved through multiple sources, their names are being withheld pending official confirmation from the Sheriff’s Office.
