Driver Escapes Overturned Truck After Bruceton-Vale Road Crash

Bruceton Police Officer Danny Emerson and Hollow Rock Officer Barry Larkins arrived on scene of an accident in the 2000 block of Bruceton-Vale Rd. Wednesday morning, October 8, to find a truck that had flipped and crashed off the roadway. But no one inside.

Turns out, Michael Hampton, 52, of Hollow Rock had walked down the road to a nearby house for help.

According to a preliminary report from Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), Hampton was driving a 2015 Dodge Ram southbound when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned. It came to rest several feet off the pavement at the edge of a field.

Hampton sustained minor injuries from the accident.

No medical personnel were dispatched to the scene. Bruceton Police Department, Hollow Rock Police Department, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, and THP responded.

According to the report, Hampton was cited with a Due Care violation.
