HUNTINGDON, Tenn. — Huck’s convenience store gave back in a big way on Wednesday, October 21.
Store employees presented a $4,300 check to Huntingdon Primary School and Huntingdon High School through its Karing for Kids fundraising efforts.
The two schools split the money evenly. Huck’s also provided pizzas for school faculty and staff.
Huntingdon Primary School Principal Vicki Crossno and Assistant Principal Amber Douglas, along with Huntingdon High School Principal Porsche McClerking and Assistant Principal Shanna Boyd, accepted the donation alongside Huck’s mascot “Lucky.”
Crossno said the primary school plans to use its share to show appreciation for teachers throughout the school year and to fund incentives for students.
“We were just so excited and so thankful to be able to be the recipients of their hard work,” Crossno said.
She added that Huck’s employees are already preparing to raise money for local children for Christmas.
Karing for Kids is Huck’s company-wide charitable program, created in 2005 to help children who are less fortunate. It supports holiday gifts for kids in need, scholarships, backpack programs, families with children undergoing medical treatment, and organizations like St. Jude and Special Olympics. Huck’s says 100% of the money raised at each store stays in that store’s community.
