HUNTINGDON, Tenn. — A jury was seated Thursday morning in the attempted murder trial of Austin Drummond and co-defendant Andre Brown, following several hours of jury selection in Carroll County.
Circuit Court Judge Mark Hayes, of the 29th Judicial District, is presiding.
District Attorney Danny Goodman and Assistant District Attorney Andrew Hays represent the state.
Drew Farmer represents Drummond, and Johnny Warren represents Brown.
Jurors were questioned throughout the morning on possible ties to the case and prior knowledge of it; several indicated they had heard of Drummond beforehand.
The jury pool grew from an initial 18 to 39 people before 14 were selected to serve, including alternates.
The jury was finalized around 11:55 a.m.
The trial will commence after a short recess.
