MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — A Huntingdon man died Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 70 at Spain Road in Madison County, according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol preliminary report.
Nicholas S. Atwater, 49, of Huntingdon, was driving a 2014 Chrysler 300 when it collided with a 2025 Toyota Camry around 12:56 p.m. on October 20.
The driver of the Camry, 38-year-old Robert Cannon, was injured.
Friends remembered Atwater as someone who was always willing to help others. He recently opened a wing restaurant in Huntingdon, and for the past two years hosted a three-on-three basketball tournament at Edwards Park.
Arrangements for Atwater have not been finalized at the time of this report.
