The Town of Trezevant has been awarded $200,000 through Tennessee’s Infrastructure Planning Grant (IPG) program to assist with long-term planning for its water and sewer systems.
The grant was announced Thursday, January 22, 2026, as part of a statewide release by Bill Lee and Stuart C. McWhorter. The funding is administered through the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development and is supported by the Rural Economic Opportunity Act.
The IPG program is designed to help rural and financially distressed communities plan for future infrastructure needs. Grant funds may be used for water or sewer system mapping and modeling, system analysis, asset management activities, and regional planning studies.
State officials said the planning grants are intended to help communities position themselves for future economic development by strengthening critical infrastructure and leveraging additional funding opportunities.
Trezevant was one of 24 communities across Tennessee selected for funding through the program.
