It was a spooktacular evening of fun and reading as families gathered at West Carroll Primary School for the annual Literacy Night celebration on Halloween Eve. The event brought together students, families, and staff for a night dedicated to the joy of reading and community connection.

Each grade level hosted a creatively themed reading station where families could enjoy stories together. The school was transformed into a festive reading wonderland, with decorations, costumes, and activities designed to spark excitement about books.
Reading Station Themes included:
- Pre-K: Read with Charlie Brown
- Kindergarten: Popping in for a Good Book
- 1st Grade: A Bewitching Night of Reading
- 2nd Grade: Read S’more Books
The evening concluded with a magical visit to Hogwarts Diagon Alley Book Fair, where families could browse and purchase books to take home.

Principal Jackie Wester shared gratitude for the strong community turnout, noting how events like Literacy Night help foster a lifelong love of reading among students. “Seeing our families come together to celebrate stories and imagination makes all the planning worthwhile,” Mrs Jackie said.
The event was a huge success, filled with laughter, creativity, and the shared spirit of learning that defines the West Carroll Special School District community.
