HUNTINGDON, Tenn. — Carroll County Observer readers now have a faster way to stay connected to local news, with the launch of the Observer’s new mobile app.
The app brings the Observer’s coverage directly to your phone’s home screen, with push notifications for breaking stories the moment they happen.
Get breaking news, sports, community updates, and the Observer’s News Feed right on your device!
We at Carroll County Observer wanted a way to get news to people faster, especially for things like road hazards, weather, and other situations where every minute matters.
The app puts that right at your fingertips.
We also strive to push the envelope and test the limits of what a small town news agency can provide its readers.
What’s new with the app:
∙ Faster access — tap the icon on your home screen, no need to open a browser or search for the site.
∙ Breaking news alerts — opt in to get notified the moment a major story breaks in Carroll County.
∙ News Feed — a live, constantly updating stream of quick updates, photos, and developing stories, available anytime at carrollobserver.com/newsfeed similar to our coverage on social media.
∙ Easy navigation. Quick access to Home, the News Feed, News, Weather, and Search, all from a simple bar at the bottom of the screen.
This app was built entirely in-house — a first for the Observer — and is launching in a brief beta testing phase this week (July 13-17, 2026), so you may notice updates and new posts arriving a little slower than usual as we work out any kinks. Starting next week, coverage should ramp back up to full speed as we fine-tune the experience based on early feedback.
The app is free and takes less than a minute to set up — no app store required. Instructions for both iPhone and Android are below.
