HUNTINGDON, Tenn. — A Huntingdon woman is facing multiple charges after police say her vehicle struck a liquor store Monday night.
Owner Tim Horn was working at his store, House of Wine and Spirits, on East Main Street when a car ran into the building.
According to Horn, Elizabeth Ann Minter was pulling into the parking lot when her brakes went out, sending her car into the front of the store. The impact broke two windows and pushed in part of the building’s facade.
Horn said the front door no longer opens, as pressure from the compromised structure is holding it shut. He’s waiting to hear from his insurance adjuster before repairs can begin, and the store will remain closed until then.
According to a Huntingdon Police Department affidavit, Minter was driving on a license that had been revoked due to a prior DUI conviction, and she was unable to provide proof of insurance.
Minter was also found in possession of two pill lids containing a white crystal-like residue that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Minter was charged with driving on a revoked license, violation of the financial responsibility law, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $1,000 on the driving charge and $1,000 on the paraphernalia charge; the insurance violation was handled by citation.
