A fatal accident blocked traffic on Buena Vista Rd. for several hours on Saturday, October 4, and claimed the life of a Holladay man.

According to a preliminary report by Tennessee Highway Patrol, a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder driven by 56-year-old Eddie Hollingsworth Jr. collided with a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Chris Todd of Bruceton.

Authorities had the roadway taped off for several hours while they processed the scene. Jesse Joseph/Carroll County Observer

Hollingsworth died as a result of the crash. Todd was not injured.

Niether vehicle had any other passengers, and no charges have been filed.

It is unclear what took place in the moments preceding the accident.

Members of Carroll County Fire Department, Carroll County Rescue Squad, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Baptist EMS, and THP responded.

This is the tenth fatal accident to occur in Carroll County in 2025, according to the Tennessee Department of Homeland Security.
